Quoted in a Barron’s blog, Amazon.com’s Jeff Bezos says that demand for Kindles outstrips supply and that Amazon.com is scrambling to find more manufacturing capacity.

  • It appears that there are now more Kindles on the secondary market and there are quite a few Kindles available on eBay for a “Buy It Now” price between $500 and $600.  That’s not as high as it was around the holiday season, but it still reflects a premium over the $399 retail price at Amazon.com.  If you can’t wait for Amazon.com to deliver, looks like eBay and some extra dollars is the way to go.

  • Is Kindle “Green”?

    An interesting article over at HubPages examines the “green” impact of having a device that requires no paper and that treads lightly on the environment.  Maybe this is a nice example of new technology can have positive effects on the environment.

  • In a recent New York Times article, Steve Jobs was quoted as saying he thought the Kindle would go nowhere because Americans have stopped reading.   Is he right?  Is the Kindle doomed from the start because nobody reads any more?

  • “Buy It Now” prices for Kindles on eBay are coming down.  Right now you can buy a Kindle from $399 to $789, a significant decrease from just a short time ago.   Apparently, more Kindles are coming onto the market and are helping to reduce “Buy It Now” prices.

  • The Amazon Kindle is listed as number 5 in PC World’s The 25 Most Innovative Products of the Year.  PC World states “Amazon has brought the e-book into the connected age by including free EvDO wireless connectivity to the e-commerce giant.”

  • The Coolest Kindle Feature

    Opinions are likely to vary, but certainly the ability to wirelessly download books and other written materials is a winning feature of the Kindle.  In one fell swoop, this device makes itself independent of computers and enters into its own, new product category.  What do you think the Kindle’s coolest feature is?
