One financial analyst speculates that the Amazon Kindle will do for ebooks what the iPod did for digital music — expand the market enormously.  According to this analyst, Amazon.com could sell more than $2.5 billion in eBooks by 2012.  That’s a lot of eBooks!  And, that’s not even taking into account any boost sales might be by the introduction of an Amazon Kindle 2.0 at some later point.

Simon & Shuster, Inc. will roughly double the number of books it has in the Kindle catalog by adding some 5000 new titles in 2008.

Prominent among the new titles to be added is the popular bestseller “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen R. Covey.
