Now you can get your own Kindle for just $359.
The Kindle is getting more and more affordable, and this new price drop will surely convince many more people to hop on the Kindle bandwagon.

On its home page, Amazon.com announces that Kindles are in stock and ready for immediate shipment.
Since its initial introduction last fall, there has been a wait for anyone wanting to purchase a Kindle. For a while, the supply tightness was reflected in the elevated prices being paid for Kindles at eBay.
Now it looks like anyone who wants a Kindle, can purchase one and get it very quickly. Time will tell if this easy availability will now increase the Kindle’s popularity even more.

One of the main advantages of the Kindle is that it’s not reliant on paper. So, when “The Last Lecture” turned out to be a true best seller (and a sellout in its paper version), Kindle owners are unaffected. They can just download the electronic version and have their copy ready and accessible in just a short time.
While paper sellouts don’t happen all that often, the Kindle, obviously, creates a new and valuable option for that situation.

On its home page, Amazon.com announces its goal — starting a few weeks from now — to be able to send out newly-ordered Kindles on the same day they’re ordered. At present, Amazon.com is supplying Kindles on a first-come, first-served basis, which in some cases has resulted in a waiting period of up to six weeks, according to Amazon.com.
This ability to order and receive a Kindle promptly is likely to enhance the popularity of Kindles.

Silicon Alley Insider speculates that Amazon.com may be selling between 5,000 and 10,000 eBooks per day. Sounds like a lot and would seem to confirm the success of the Amazon Kindle.
